This video highlights key changes introduced in the 2023+ design standards for Pressure Differential Systems (PDS), particularly regarding the scope of EN 12101-13.
This change was necessitated by the need to address the stack effect, a phenomenon caused by buoyancy forces and convection movements in tall structures, which was previously ignored by the older standard (1211.6). The stack effect results in uneven pressure distribution within staircases during extreme winter and summer conditions.
